Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka shankar is a British and American sitar player. She also plays music. She was awarded the British House of Commons' Shield, which is the youngest and the first female to receive it. Alongside receiving nine Grammy nominations, she was also the first Indian-born musician to perform during the ceremony live. Anoushka Shakar, a young emerging singer on Indian Sitar, is Anoushka. She is both the student and daughter of Ravi Shankar. Born in 1982, she was raised in London. Her childhood years included a period of time in London in London and New Delhi. At the age of 13 the first time she performed at New Delhi took place. After that, she relocated in Encinitas CA, where she received the High School diploma with honors in 1999. Anouskha is yet to be a mature woman however she's got an impressive career in singing and recording. Her father was with her in many performances for several years. Her first solo album, Anourag, was released in 1998. The following year, she released the Grammy nominated album Live at Carnegie Hall. Because she has performed on all the major stages in across the globe, she's stage career is extensive. The career of Anoushka goes far beyond music. Bapi: The love of My Live is her 2002 memoir, that is a tribute to Ravi Shankar. In addition, she has appeared in a number of films. In 2003, she acted in the film Dance Like a Man where she plays a young Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka Shankar is an emerging celebrity and her popularity will keep on growing. Anoushka was a frequent traveler and spent lots of her time in London and Delhi in her early years. Later, she moved to California to finish high school. Anoushka Shankar began her musical studies at age nine. Four years later, she made her sitar debut in Delhi at her father's 75th birthday party. Accompanying her father as they toured around the globe, Anoushka had a wealth of performances in Carnegie Hall while still in her teens performing at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival as well as performing alongside George Harrison. It is the House of Commons Shield was presented to her from the British Parliament for being the top Asian Arts musician. She is the sole female and is the smallest recipient of this prize.
